Life on the Mississippi
I am so enjoying crossing that mighty artery of watery commerce as I explore my new town. I live right next door to Coffee Eclectic, a fortuitous situation indeed! I have found The Ax Man surplus stores, Art Scraps recyclers, the Re Use Center. I've been to the Guthrie Theater, a May Day Parade, many gallery openings, many coffee shops and wonderful restaurants, good movies and better movies. My son and I spend time volunteering at The Soap Factory. My very loose goal is to see 3 art-related things a week and to turn down no opportunities out of hand. I am loosely meeting that goal... quite gleefully.
Continuing studio renovation calls...
New Books at Susan Hensel Design
Some new work happened in spite of surgery, the long wait and the ultimate move. Right Hand Redemption twas a direct response to the surgery. Recovery was slow, indeed it still continues nearly 6 months later. But art will win, always. Since the right hand was tethered, the left hand did the work.
Also new is Currents. Sitting in church I had a vision of faith rolling down like a cascade, a river in flood, careening over a cliff. This book was the result.
Keeping in Touch
I am also setting up a YAHOO GROUP to make keeping in touch easier. The group will be used exactly like my email list. Occasional emails will go out announcing updates on the website, openings at the gallery and calls for artists.

The fence is no longer white, the studio is full and the floors are re-finished. We now have lights, computers and their matching outlets.
